Background on Lord Shrike

Shrike makes an effort to be very dignified, always remaining cool, but always with an undercurrent of anger below the surface. He is very tall, grey haired with streaks of white, probably in his sixties (old for medieval times, but certainly capable and dangerous, despite Silvera's taunts). Shrike is extremely devious, and has political connections everywhere.

I'll leave it up to you to decide his past connections with Silvera, how he is currently involved in/with Shadow, or what plans he has for said criminal organization (but think "hostile takeover"). Suffice it to say that he has no loyalty toward anyone but himself (or possibly his kin) - certainly not toward the King - and that he has the means to, if not kill Silvera (though he does not know this, she has lived a long time), certainly make things difficult for her.

Note: (If anyone cares) the name comes, not from another variation on "shriek", but from a character in a recent Star Wars novel. No connection, except I thought the name was cool.
