Is this like cash-for-clunkers, but they want my old optical drives? Because I might have, um, a few.
Would be nice, huh? No, it’s one of those “if you bought this you overpaid and may be entitled to a share of the settlement” which will probably work out to $1.50 by the time it’s split up between the lawyers and everyone in the class.

That’s for sure! I always wonder how they managed to get my contact info, too – sometimes there’s a registration card I remember signing, but sometimes it’s a like…how did you know? Did you track the store purchase, the credit card, the insurance info, what? It’s kind of a reminder of how much can be tracked.
