Moving With a Comic Collection

(Responding to a question about preparing comic books for moving house.)

Standard long boxes or short boxes will be fine as far as protection goes. No need to worry about padding unless you have a box that isn’t full. Just make sure if you stack them that you load them parallel to the truck so they don’t tip over when you start and stop, and put something sturdy to either side so that they don’t tip when you turn.

Also: short boxes are a lot easier to carry than long boxes (unless you have really long arms), but you have to make twice as many trips between your door and the moving truck. It’s a trade-off, and which works better is going to depend on how many comics you have and how close you can park the truck at both the old and new place.
